All Saints’ Day
All Saints’ Day — or All Hallows’, the day after All Hallows’ Eve — is a time to remember all Christians, especially those who gave their lives for the faith. Celebrating “all saints, known and unknown,” invites us to stand in awe of the magnitude of God’s faithfulness throughout history, one story at a time.
During this season, I want to encourage you to watch the freely-accessible short film The 21, which honors the 21 Coptic martyrs killed by ISIS in Libya in 2015.
Animated in the style of Coptic iconography, the film was created in collaboration with the global Coptic community and produced by more than 70 artists from over 24 countries. You may recognize Jonathan Roumie as one of the executive producers.
As we remember these modern-day martyrs, let’s take time to pray for persecuted Christians around the world — for protection, endurance, and peace — and for the unity of the global Church, that we may stand together as one Body.
“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through their word; that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one…” - John 17:20-22
